Civil Rights and then Roe V. Wade is what turned the Republicans into the IDIOTS they are now. They used to have a very good Party, but then they GOT religion. Which meant they needed to depend on Sectarian differences, just like the politicians in Iraq do today. That strategy was nothing new though. Politicians used to run against Papal influence (Catholics) and Jews. It's all about appealing to the lowest common denominator. (Like jllallen., LOL) It looks like the U.S. will inevitably move to the European model. More of a socialistic society. It wouldn't be good for me but it will take a while so I'll be dead anyway. (probably good for jlallen though, he'll need government support).
