and conversely, the upturn at Hon Hai and Pegatron in March was meaningless. The weight of all of the component suppliers saying things werent getting any better was a far better tell on Apple's results.

Apple met their guidance and booked sales on 51 million iPhones. The Nikkei article incorrectly led people to speculate there would be far less iPhones sold. Reports about the iPhone don't have to be accurate to put pressure on the stock; they merely have to be negative.
