good points all - if you look at how much of your hard disk contains your own files vs. programs and system it would probably be a tiny percentage.

Sun is not advocating that everyone move to thin client devices but for businesses as well as many public uses they make a lot of sense - thin client devices attached to the internet should be ubiquitous devices for kiosks (music/book stores, banks) anyplace where a customer can serve themselves - how many PC's do you see for public use? there all on someones desk at home or in the office or behind a counter in a store.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I am a bit paranoid as I always go through my credit card reports closely just in case there is an error. There is nothing confidential there. But I can imagine the IRS would be salavating over this as they could get a warrent ( or currently they don't need one) and simply review all your records if the encryption is somesort of government standard. I just don't want the encryption that is used to be of the V chip type that the government or anyone else has access to without my permission or knowledge.
Anyway, enough on that I guess. Am I correct that this would be a JAVA app?

Charles, >>Are you comfortable with VISA knowing where you shop? with your bank and broker knowing your account balances? with your long-distance provider knowing who you call? with your local phone company (perhaps) holding your voicemail?...<<

Excellent point!
