if that is what he is talking about, we ought to be doing that for all immigrants... I remember in the 60's and 70's PSA commercials running that reminded resident aliens of their need to register on an annual basis.

Jlallen, if that is what he is talking about, we ought to be doing that for all immigrants... I had a Russian roommate who had to deal with various government agencies on a regular basis. It's likely because his family came here during the Soviet era. Anyway, here's what Politifact has to say on the matter: politifact.com Sounds like a lot of flip-flopping that is typical with Trump's bombastic rhetoric, which leaves a lot of room for interpretation. Anyway, I think it's prudent to track Syrian refugees, or even put a temporary halt on accepting them into our borders. I don't think it's necessary, but I also won't oppose it. But when that extends to ALL Muslims, that's when I have to put my foot down. Not because I think Islam is the "religion of peace" (it isn't), but because it has severe implications on religious liberty in general. Tenchusatsu
