At the moment I know of no one reccomending the stock, other then it was written up by Nesbitt as a good junior to watch in the coming year.

I have followed this property and the Antares/Coleville story since mid 1996, this stock will head upwards as they announce more resource estimates and the price should stay up on positive news.

I expect news in January and throughout 1998 on a reasonably regular basis.

I bought today at .42 because it is still close to its 52 week low, it seems to be building a base in the .40 - .45 range and it seems to want to breakout to the upside rather than the downside. Given the news from Indonesia due in January (that involves a lot of silver in addition to gold) followed by B.C. news due in February I figure it's good to the high .50's at the very minimum making it a good trading vehicle over a relatively short period of time. Canaccord has recommended it in its Scavenger 1 List. Apparently Kaiser knocks it for its burn-rate but others on this thread seem to think management has a good handle on that.

Canaccord has recently highlighted Antares in the yearly "Scavenger list" which last year average above 400% for the top 5 stocks and above 110% for the entire portfolio if I recall correctly. Also Northern miner recently had a highlight in their paper. Remember that promoters such as bishop, and kaiser usually recieve shares from a Co. or are paid the big bucks, but Antares management are a bunch old South African consevatives who are not into that kind of stuff. They have their money in the Co. and are in for the long run. A bunch of good properties and the cash to mine them will soon prove prosperous. Ojalali may be mined this year and spin off huge cash flows.

When I said it would be good for a trade in the high fifties I meant that to be at the very minimum of my expectations. I base this on the movement of the stock during the last press release but conditions have changed with tax loss season over, the POG not dropping like a rock and ANZ now having a proven base to work from. I may well hold much longer depending on the news. I've been accumulating the last few days taking out the last offers at .39, .42 and what I thought was the last at .45. Think I'll be staying put for the time being. Have you finally bought and if not, I'd like to reverse the question you posed to me if you don't mind sharing.
