Dear Jane, I too like the movie Jesus of Nazereth. I want to tell you something that recently happened with that movie. In Israel everything shuts down at sunset on Friday night for the Sabbath and there is NOTHING to do there, so the vast majority watch television. They have very strick censorship rules there and most American shows can not be aired for there would be nothing left after censoring it. So they have this bill there to imprison anyone that gives out literature on the Messiah or witnesses about Him because there have been so many recent converts. Well one Friday a few months ago they were desperatly seeking something to air on Israeli TV that would meet there censorship rules and someone found Jesus of Nazereth. Can you believe with an audience of 90% of Israel they showed all 3 parts and used a Jewish New Testament for translation. May God be Praised there is no respect from people on this thread for the power and Great Glory of our God and His continued faithfulness even when all of us are unworthy as we all were before we became filled with the Holy Spirit. Now I am going to do something that no one is going to like but please bare with me. It was Peter who satan used to tempt the Lord to not go to the cross so we see that the cross and the Lords sacrifice was Gods will. So I believe that Caiaphas was speaking Prophetically that God willed this man to die for the sins of the Nation of Israel and then draw the whole world back to God Isaiah 49 He will be a light to the Gentiles. So Caiaphas was no better no worse than any of us and was used by God to give a word to the world that the Lords sacrifice is a gift from Him because He loves sinful men. Remember Jobs friends they were convinced God hates sinners and that surely Job was a sinner since he had all these problems. The anti-semetic groups say that God has forsaken His people because they have problems. They better watch out because if Job had not prayed for them they would have been destroyed. That is a form of judgement that God despises, telling people why God is doing things to them. Who are we to tell anyone with tree trunks in our eyes that they have a speck in theirs God will take care of all men not us we are only to give the GOOD NEWS of the GOSPEL.
