This study concerns me...

I wouldn't let it bother me.
Probably something simple like women tend to alway try to keep in shape (figure -- don't you know)
so don't need anything exotic like an Apple Watch. Or, maybe it is just the weight. Check with Annie.

A lady I know bought one. Based on this thin representative sample, after all she fits a lot of the stereotype when it comes to her spending habits, I deduce that it has a lot to do with a willingness to get into the nuts and bolts research prior to the purchase. She would look at the price and a representation of the advertised promise, then buy it. Guys, on average, would be more likely to be skeptical of the advertised claims, read a few reviews first, and the weigh in with their dollars based on their own perceptions.

But, that's just my opinion based on very limited data and a lot of conjecture.

david,

my guess as to why fewer women are buying the Apple Watch is that they are generally not as tech hungry if you get my drift. The Fitbit does pretty much one thing and that's probably all they are looking for. I have a few friends, female, and they have iPhones but have no interest in the watch. They have Fitbits. I would prefer the watch but have not as yet purchased one mostly due to it's being iPhone dependent. Guys have pockets for the phone and their wrist for the watch. We have the wrist part but no pockets.

I really dropped the ball on coming up with a wearable pouch or envelope or cross body thingy to put the phone in but that's what it will take for me, that or a watch that doesn't rely on the phone. I'll get back on that project.
