I have not looked at that metric over time, and even if it did have a negative slope, I would not project that forward. I am looking at current ratios, and view them as sustainable. In the long run, growth in Enterprise SSD products is going to more than make up for any reductions in HDD.

This is why Western Digital will thrive while Seagate will wither away. Some may recall that Seagate actually held a substantial position in SanDisk, and sold off that position. Kodak also had the opportunity to make a major investment in SanDisk, misread the market for digital cameras, and look what happened to them.

Western Digital management is made up of forward thinkers who have a track record of good execution. They are building their future, and astute investors will ride a road to riches.
