I do not believe Trump is a conservative. But neither am I a conservative, and I think most Republicans today are true conservatives.

Most of us recognize that stodgy old conservative social values have to be upgraded from time to time. But at the same time we are going to have to get to smaller government or this country will cease to exist in any recognizable form. Pretty soon.

So, I don't give a shit if men marry other men. Or sheep. I don't give a shit if men marry six women. That's on them. Just leave me the hell alone. If a person wants to contribute to social security so he can draw benefits when he's old, fine, have a program for that. But don't tell me I must buy a product. Or I must wear seat belts. Or that I cannot smoke if that is my choice. Smoke tobacco or weed or suck on some peyote. It is just no one's business.

But I do recognize, like Trump, that we can't keep doing what we're doing in the way we run the country. And frankly, only Carson and Trump have been willing to talk about it.

How many times have Hillary or Bernie addressed the fiscal crisis our country is in in a rational context? I think the answer to that is zero. At least Trump recognizes it is a problem.

I don't care what he thinks about these social values. Bill Krystol and others are full of crap. We need to be worried about making the country function economically again. I don't claim Trump has the solution to that but at least he recognizes some of the problems.

His unfitness starts with basic issues of temperament. It encompasses the race-baiting, the conspiracy theorizing, the flirtations with violence, and the pathological lying that have been his campaign-trail stock in trade.

This unfitness is really just a reflection of the audience in which it finds support....it has been nurtured by the some of the very "conservatives" who are now scrambling to reject what they have worked so diligently to create...
