Some of the major battles of WWII were fought over the oil resources of Northern Africa.
(Middle East)

The Germans sent their best General (Rommel) there to protect the access to those oil resources.

The U.S. began fighting the Germans there, for the sole purpose of cutting off that access.

So, we've been involved in the Middle East for quite a while.

You seem to think we maintain our involvement with the Middle East Just for MIC or Big Oil.

I think we maintain our interest there so we U.S. citizens don't have to pay $20 Bucks a gallon for gasoline.
