To all: Yesterday I went to the Boise, Idaho MUEI showroom and purchased a notebook computer. At $1349 I just couldn't refuse. There were 40 to 50 people in the showroom looking at or buying computers. Basically the place was packed. I asked the salesman how sales were going? He commented that all 11 floor salespeople had a quota to sell 225 units in December and everybody had beaten that quota by 50 to 100 units. He said they were having an outstanding month. On a prior trip a month ago they had inventory stacked to the ceiling, but all I saw this trip was about 50 units left on the floor. He said they were cleaning out old inventory to make room for new products coming out. I asked the salesperson if the company was for sale? He wouldn't come right out and say "yes", but his comments indicated that everyone anticipated a sale was imminent. He said the companies problems were due to the excess inventory and drastic price cutting which have shrunk their margins to the bone. We have all heard these comments before, but it was interesting to hear it directly from an employee who depends on this company for his livelyhood. I look for the company to be sold in the next 6 months. (just speculation on my part)
Good investing to all. MM
