of course buy and hold has outperformed most active traders in the last three years.. one could hardly go wrong.. IMO, with dramatic increases in volatility in all markets, but especially on the NASDAQ, active trading may just become a necessary staple to those who wish to protect (and enhance) their buy and hold portfolios, It would probably make the difference between good and great investors. I always thought that TA was mainly supposed to supplement Foundamentals/Value and not replace it. If and when the market turns bearish - it may be easier to perceive the advantages of TA vs just buy and hold.
