JRM, ASND was very successful for a couple of years and the stock was bid up accordingly. Two quarters back, after merging with CSCC, they missed their estimate by a few pennies, and last quarter they missed it substantially. The reasons include a slowdown in the industry and technical problems which arose with the introduction of new products in the spring and summer, along with slow acceptance of 56k which many have attributed to the absence of an industry standard. Competition also played a role. All of these things have been discussed and argued on this thread before.

The larger question now is whether the company will remain a player in future. Obviously, those who believe that their earlier success was no accident are bullish. The immediate question is whether they can resume earnings growth. The company stated to analysts about a month ago that they were comfortable with estimates, and this along with takeover rumors, was responsible for the recent surge. The fallback since then has been on low volume so that the market appears to be on hold awaiting this quarter's report. The chart looks good in my opinion, but TA isn't rocket science and everyone has to draw their own conclusions.

Hope this helps.

I guess ASND will bounce back when everyone else is looking the other
way.

Cheers
