The fat lady has sung. Mighty Casey has struck out. OH Jr clipped OH Sr's ears by a startling $700 plus. It ain't gonna be easy, but on the 25th I'm going to graciously proclaim OH Jr the real king of investors. Then I'm going to hit the little buggar up for a loan I'll pay back about as fast as he paid back a loan for a house down payment made about 15 years ago.

At this point in time 1998 appears difficult to read market-wise. I'm at least temporarily resolving to trade at a less frenetic pace in well-researched investment grade issues. Right now two areas seem worth looking in to. With the dollar strong against every major currency there must be companies who will benefit by buying materials, components, products, etc. elsewhere for resale here. And with the acknowledged tight labor market there must be companies (temporary manpower? Mexican labor based?) who will benefit. Now to dig one or two out!

I hope 1998 proves a happy year for you all.

Full of resolve,
OH
