<<Boeing can build a 747 in a couple of months>>.....Try ordering a 747 and see if you get in in a couple of months! The fact is that you will wait more than 18 months, regardless of how long it takes to assemble one. There's not much point in guessing about the leadtimes required by this particular Italian manufacturer of very sophisticated production equipment unless you've talked to them and found out the facts. Your statements about Valence's poor business practices and management leaving, based on your guesses about the production lines, are just that - guesses- and are based on little credible evidence.
If one includes the time it's taken to bring the production lines up to acceptable performance, 18 months is a SHORT timeframe.

Webpilot-
Read your posts..thanks. Just want to let you know that 18 mos. for this type of process is MORE than realistic. I am personally aware of two components on those production lines that have 6-12 month delivery times by themselves. Again, when you deal with chemical processing there are a major number of environmental and safety instruments and systems that need to be installed and this can be a lenghty process. I am sure that Boeing could build a 747 in 2 mos if they had to, but they COULD NOT build a bettery production line...no one could.
