Lending standards for business loans are getting tighter, according to the Federal Reserve's "Senior Loan Officer Opinion Survey" (SLOOS).

This is leading to a decrease of available capital to businesses, even though interest rates remain at an all-time low.

C&I loans are a catch-all category for loans that help finance purchases or upgrades of equipment.

A significant net fraction of banks reported tightening standards for construction and land development loans and loans secured by multifamily residential properties. Those looking to sell multi-family rental property have already missed the top of the market according to several banking experts.

Only a few banks reported tightening standards for loans secured by nonfarm nonresidential properties.
