Why would you sweeten tea? Try tea British style with a little milk.

Unless the Brits have changed their habits recently, they'll milk and sugar both your tea and coffee, unless you request otherwise. I do like my tea that way, although please keep my coffee straight up black.

They'll also automatically dump vinegar on your fish and chips (yuck), unless to tell them not to..

Hmmm. Interesting. My mom used to put milk in my tea when I was a kid. Had forgotten all about that.

Looked up a recipe. (http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Milk-Tea) Called for half and half strong tea and condensed milk. That would net about five hundred calories in 8 oz of milk tea, eighty some carbs, all sugar. Not sure if they do it that way in England or not but it's not quite what I had in mind. In tea I'm just looking for a beverage to hydrate myself that tastes better than water.

Also, not sure I could get that served with my moussaka or fajitas in a restaurant. Unsweetened iced tea is enough of a challenge now that I'm living in the South. I can't imagine they get many calls to serve it with milk and I can't carry milk in my pocket like I do artificial sweetener.

Still, I recall liking tea with milk once so I will experiment at home with adding some whole milk. 4-5 grams of sugar now and again for nostalgia reasons is doable.
