Remember that Soros is a trader so just because he might be short 1B in S&P futures 1 week doesn't mean he won't be long the same next week. And he might buy a stock just to have US stock exposure vs because he has any particular affinity for that stock. So his 13Fs are bound to be pretty much useless. He was short S&Ps in January so he may well have made money and covered his position and reinitiated a few months later. He is not generally one to fight a strong trend reversal even if he does not trust its secularity.
