I read in this week's PCWeek that Microsoft is coming out with its version of the PalmPilot, called the PalmPC. Among the many features is a compact flash memory slot. I was wondering if the recent slide is due to information that the flash memory slot was using Intel's flash memory card--such a fact would indeed be a blow to SNDK. And while we all think that would be a poor decision by Microsoft because SNDK's flash memory is better than Intel's, that does not mean Microsoft wouldn't go with Intel. Okay, I know I am reaching here. Additionally, the article, page 8, Dec 22/29, says "compact flash memory slot" which should mean CF which is SNDK. But, I can't keep from wondering why the stock is so far off the $28 offering price. I think that PDAs and smart phones will provide a bigger market for SNDK than digital cameras, although SNDK's market dominance is yet to be established although the MMC looks hot.

I continue to fear Intel as they have so much dominance and influence in the chip market.
