Your response is correct - for the moment.

At present Vocaltec and Franklin are clearly chasing after two different markets. But Vocaltec has products in the works that should compete with FTEL and others in 1998.

I don't know if they plan on selling their servers directly to end users (like FTEL) or if they also plan on setting up some type of network (like FNET) and selling phone time.

My only point was, that in the eyes of the novice, name recognition is very important. How many people continued to buy overpriced IBM PC's long after the clones had penetrated the market? They went by the old cliche "no one ever got fired by buying IBM". If the product is comparible in quality, AND they have a name, they could do well.

I'm hoping Franklin's Marketing and PR efforts quickly follow any upcoming events. WE know the quality is there but does anyone else??
