"I just heard that parts of New Orleans are sinking at a rate of up to 2" a year. How long can we keep New Orleans viable with sea water rising, and the land sinking. Likewise, what happens to Venice Italy."

Land sinking or sea level rising? Which is it?

I was in an Asian country where the land had dropped about a foot as could be seen by concrete steps being separated above the land. Me thinks they were pumping the aquifers a bit too hard.
