Many poses are physically difficult and require maximum focus and precision, and some fear that while under the influence of marijuana, people might not be as aware of their body and may be more inclined to injure themselves.
I would agree with that.

Yoga is wonderful, but as with any "exercise" there is potential for injuries which can happen when you are not fully focused.

As you become more "advanced" in yoga, the more you are concentrating on, as you become aware of what every part of your body is doing, internal and external. Even the actions in a simple pose like "standing" (Tadasana) can be complex (I could probably write a few pages on what your body is doing in that innocuous pose).

In practicing yoga after a while, your thoughts become more focused and clear. I see, correctly or incorrectly, that going under the influence would have the opposite long term effect.

Some people can handle it, but the problem is that the person who is judging this is in the worst position to judge.

That being said, I had one yoga teacher who was wonderful, but it was obvious that he was a user.
Just as a non-smoker can tell if another person smokes cigarettes, the same can be said of those who toke/vape. Not easy to hide it.

Others view both cannabis and yoga as spiritual experiences, so combining the two makes sense.
To each there own, but personally I would not go to a studio that involves that, since to get rid of the residual smell...
