I have Win10 on a new laptop. And some things I love about it, but some things not so much.

I love my old desktop with Win7.....I never want to change it until forced to do so.

One difference is that it boots & shuts down almost instantaneously now. ;-)

Yes, I'm very happy with the boot/shutdown/restart times of Windows 10 compared with Windows 7. Never had a Win 8 or 8.1 system, so I don't know those comparisons. Windows 10 standard shutdown seems to be similar to a hibernate, so subsequent start up is much faster. But even startup from full shutdown is much faster than with Windows 7, in my experience.
