Mike I can hear you laughing now :-) This is from EETimes, August 18, 1997, Issue 967. Since you are in the business,(?) I'm sure you read this but conveniently forgot it:

"Minnetonka,Minn. Feeling that the year 2000 problem will hit embedded systems, B-Tree Systems, Inc. has rolled out a development tool that lets designers check for potential problems. The program upgrades the firm's Validor line.

"The year 2000 problem has been largely ignored in embedded products, said Jaffer Hussain, marketing vp at B-Tree. "Many systems use clock time, doing things like timing themseleves between maintenance checks or sending timed information to a host system."

..... Hussain sees the program being used by either large companies with many products or by consultants who specialize in real-time problems.

Prices start at $55,000.00 with shipments in October.<<

If you have done business with B-Tree you should know this. Fairly expensive diagnostic tool for a problem that does not exist, don't you think? I eagerly look forward to your DD write up about the Embedded Problem y2k myth.
