Kurt,,,,I believe the cement industry grinds pozzolin clays down past 1000 mesh. ( The finer the grind, The faster it sets! )
As a note, There is a company in Florida named Carpco who seems to be able to take care of all the problems which occur with this " Batea ". ( Slurry )
.
Having been a placer miner in years past. I really believe that dredging at the depths discussed could more easily be done with a submersible type machine. Just a thought..

I am a man of many, too many words. But you said just what I just posted , but you did it in fewer words. Seems to me you are right. Your use of the language suggests you are a professional man or at least a well informed "one of the folks". By the way, my engineering book, The SME recent version did go to 400 Mesh Tyler. I do not even own a 300 Mesh screen. Much too fine for me. Too hard to get anything to go through it. Usually when I find those kind of comments about super fine Mesh sorting, I find the material is not even 100% Minus 100 mesh. No mesh screening was done at all. Just someones wild guess. Good comment. But I will bet the subject process feed is at least minus 300 Mesh come Monday morning. Happy New Year mike
