All of that constant drilling, refining, distributing and polluting at every step of the way.

All of that is necessary because there's never been a solar panel, wind turbine, or giant lithium battery produced without fossil fuels.

Can you imagine guys with pickaxes mining all that lithium in Chile, hauling it to the coast in mule driven wagons, shipping it to China by clipper ship, manufacturing the batteries using soybean oil from the plantations that cover all of Asia, then shipping the batteries by sail powered galleon to CA to put in your Tesla?

Clearly there could be no advanced industry, no Tesla's, no Boeing's, no copper wires stretched across the continent without cheap abundant fossil fuel power.
