In a perfect world, insurance wouldn't exist.

In your world the government would control everything. What incentive would there be for the pharma/device industries to develop squat to improve outcomes? The government would dictate everything. The existing system sucks but the old profit motive has saved perhaps billions of lives. The entire world benefits from this shitty system just like having our military as the world PD.

It's not uncommon to encounter phenomenal ignorance on these forums, but that one is truly blue ribbon stupid.

Without insurance our world would be closer to the misery that existed prior. Insurance first enhanced commerce by making shipping possible, expanded in scope to enhance the processes that drug us out of dark times.

Any problems with insurance result from political interferences with actuarial calculations.
