Our 'experts' recommendation of military actions abroad has been their forte, Henry Kissinger for one said Clinton's action Desert Fox did not go far enough. The preemptive nature of such strategies mostly rising out of a deep seated need to try & keep all such activity on foreign shores, away from the homeland. (think of all the deadly nuclear material that was potential jetsam & flotsam after Russia break up, who do we thank none has been exploded here?)

* In case of Taliban, no compunction here to stop hunting them down, sending them to allah special delivery. Pakistan is a plague house & is their 2nd home, psychopaths funded by Saudis.

George Carlin's analysis doesn't miss by much, but have to remember its a violent world with psychopaths at large. Then look how right wing all want their 50 round clips & become hysterical when they're denied, then look at what Trump is saying reflecting Right Wing mentality.

The World Has Changed ....George Shultz was progenitor/creator source of the 'preventive war' doctrine which supported & rationalized the Clinton actions & full blown Bush admins wars in Iraq.

Again, the fear is the new threat of Taliban-like suicidal jihadist, Putin may get some credit
for them not getting hands on nuclear material, we've been lucky so far?

George Shultz October 21, 2008, saying, "I’m much more concerned about a terrorist without a return address that cannot be deterred than I am about deliberate war between nuclear powers. You can’t deter a group who is willing to commit suicide. We are in a different era. You have to understand the world has changed."

In 2010, the four were featured in a documentary film entitled " Nuclear Tipping Point". The film is a visual and historical depiction of the ideas laid forth in the Wall Street Journal op-eds and reinforces their commitment to a world without nuclear weapons and the steps that can be taken to reach that goal.
