Maybe it's just physics:

1. Increase the flow, increase the turbulence,
or better yet,
2. Increase the pressure, increase the heat of the gas

I work for a large, well respected, well known forest products company.
Our engineers are working on the non-information technology aspects of the y2k problem. Specifically, embedded chips used on the factory floor, as well as other electronic devices.
Why in the heck would they be spending all this time assessing systems, and making sure everything will be in compliance come 2000 if there was no problem? It boggles my mind as to why this internationally known company would be doing this if embedded chips were just a hoax put forth by some "crooks" as Mr. Winn says.
