Guardian : We Passed The Tipping Point In 1982

Posted on May 26, 2016 by tonyheller

The Guardian says that we ran out of time to stop global warming in 1982.

My father warned Exxon about climate change in the 1970s. They didn’t listen | Claudia Black-Kalinsky | Opinion | The Guardian

Global warming was so bad in 1977 – that by 1978 experts said that there “was no end in sight to 30-year cooling trend”

[ Now this is the "paper of record." ]

The next graph shows the disastrous consequences of Exxon ignoring Dr. Black’s highly informed speculation.

Did you survive the 1982 global warming apocalypse?

[ Rising seas reality: From the last maximum to now the sea level has risen about 430 feet. Almost all that rise took place over a 12,000 year period that ended about 8,000 years ago. During that 12,000 year period of rapid sea rise, the sea level rose on average by less than half an inch per year. During the last 8,000 years the sea level has risen by less than 10 feet in total. ]

Power prices turned negative during several 15-minute periods yesterday, dropping as low as minus 50 euros ($57) a megawatt-hour, according to data from Epex Spot.

You get such negative prices because of government distortion of the market. The solar and wind producers get feed-in tariffs that allow them to make a marginal profit from selling electricity even at negative prices.
