(Even while Mr. Pattern is unwilling to entertain the possibility of a repeat of 2005-2006... LOL)
It could be much worse than then. Intel has signed off to not do what they didn't admit to doing: selective discounts. Probably the reason Intel failed in portable, they couldn't divide and conquer. They promised not to. If we have a repeat of 05-06 there won't be anything up the sleeve. All discounts will have to be across the board or they will be in even more trouble.

I don't know how good Zen and Polaris will be. I think they will make some inroads into Nv and particularly Intel's territory. Not only will they not have Jokers up their sleeve, they won't have sleeves to put them in. Meaning, every OEM/box maker who uses AMD, will know they are NOT going to be out flanked (punished exponentially) as before by Intel. It would seem likely a Intel repeat would be cause for people to go to jail this time around. IMHO TWT
