Globe says news of new president sends stock flying

Western Copper Holdings Limited WTCShares issued 107066491997-12-30 close $5.55Wednesday Dec 31 1997The Globe and Mail reports in its Wednesday, December 31, edition that news that Western Copper Holdings is getting a new president and chief operating officer sent the stock flying up $0.55 to close at $5.55 on the TSE, yesterday. The Globe's Market movers column reports that Thomas Patton, who hails from Rio Tinto Mining, where he was the managing director for its South American region, replaces Dale Corman. Mr Corman becomes chairman and CEO. Mr Patton has been granted options to buy up to 200,000 shares of Western Copper over the next five years.
