Trump continues to say on the campaign trail that his environmental position is simple: He believes in clean air and clean water. I think he should continue in that vein. He is winning over the republican vote and the democrats basically do not have a candidate.

As to the drought...he knows there is technically a drought. He is asking you to turn it up a notch intellectually and realize that the "drought" does not serve as an answer. It is simply an excuse for the inability of your State and the feds combined to resolve an issue that could be easily resolved with honesty and willingness.

In that regard, I say this to Mr. Trump:

Dear Mr. Trump. Some good people in PM discussed some California issues with me. And the water issue is obviously perennial.

It seems that certain areas replenish reservoirs very well after periods of rain. It also appears that IF more reservoirs were built, that a surplus supply could be on hand to be used as needed. Also, the environmental versus agriculture/economics seems to be an artificial either/or construct. If the reservoirs were there, then the water could be directed as dictated by common sense and contract.

Given that California supplies America with such a huge proportion of goods (especially fruits, nuts, and vegetables)—the success of this agricultural economy is obviously of Federal Concern.

As well, there is nothing to prevent states from cooperating in the building of reservoirs and the movement of water to where it provides mutual benefit.

Instead of “all talk—no action” politicians striving with all their might to erect obstacles to successful outcomes, the people of California need an honest Federal leader who will find creative and cooperative solutions through lateral thinking.

Resolved: More reservoirs must be built—wherever that may be.

And all people who will benefit from this must share in the costs.

And bonus! Look at the jobs!

Yes, Mr. Trump! You CAN win California on the road to the Presidency! Even Wharf Rat will likely vote for you if you can point him toward some green grass...
