"We've been honestly willing the rain to fall for about 5 years."

I don't think that is the solution Donald was referring to. I have had PMs from posters who live in California who understand that there are solutions to the "drought". Defeatism and rain dances are probably not viable in the long term.

Freshwater comes from the oceans through evaporation and prevailing winds. How you get it to your crops and gardens or wherever is up to your leaders. Trump does not see the "drought" as the essential problem. He sees poor leadership, wrong-headedness, and special interests as the problem. A lot of people agree with him.

If you have spent the last decade or so listening to people who whine about what can't be done...perhaps it is time for everyone to get off the pity pot and elect people who understand how to make deals and actually get things done?

"Rat wouldn't vote for Trump if it was "Vote or Be Executed", and his was the only name on the ballot"

It sounds like you don't want to vote for him. I guess maybe those red ties are a little bold, eh?!

"Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me."

Doing nothing about the water problem sort of feels like that, I guess.
