re: management's obligation to issue warnings

Given a large backlog, this Q earnings should be fine, to this extent they have no obligation to comment. The big unknown is how many new orders did they get since late October, and they probably wouldn't comment on this till the next CC.

I can't figure out if the on-hand laser inventory at SVGI, ASMLF, Canon and Nikon has increased. To this extent, any news about
successful recent commercial deployment of DUV tools would be welcome. Most articles we come across are about pilot and research installations.

This time, CYMI is diverging from other semi-equips in absence of any public news/rumours. This gives some credence to "window-dressing" selloff theory. We'll find out soon.

Y.

Mr Aloha said,
"It would be a terrible miscalculation for them to have said what they did early and would certainly open themselves up to lawsuits if they came out and said earnings for the next Q would disappoint. I don't think they will."

I say,
Everything management said was b4 Asia blew up. If there is going to be a problem it will come out after this qtr. is over. Pushouts and cancellations have just started showing up over the last few weeks. Things will get more clear next qtr.
