Pkrbkr, I remember in the days after 9/11, people were asking, "Why do they hate us so much?"

George W. Bush answered that question with the following declaration, "America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining."

Imagine how Obama (or Al Gore, or John Kerry or Hillary Clinton for that matter) would have answered that question. "America was targeted for attack because we are the biggest warmongers in the world. And we need to reflect upon that truth."

It's the fruit of the liberal "Blame America first" sentiment. And that's the context in which they portray Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric.

P.S. - I have my own reasons for opposing Trump's anti-Muslim rhetoric, but it has nothing to do with the liberal fantasy that they'll stop hating us if we just leave them alone.
