Yeah, all the claims of slow adoption of FinFETs seems to be evaporating. But I won't stop at 16FFC either. Per the recent ARM news of the A73/G71 combo, their is a rush on for 10nm as well. MediaTek claims they will have parts mid-year '17. Samsung, MediaTek, HiSilicon, and Qualcomm will, I suspect all have 10nm SoCs out before the iPhone8 ships next Sept, so they will beat Apple to sales, although Apple will likely be one of the first to tapeout their production part.
