Coal is getting displaced because it pollutes and emits the most CO2 as a combustion byproduct of all the FF's.

There is no way to mitigate that problem without drastically lowering EROEI.

Solar runs my home with absolutely no FF's.

And the cost to do that continues to rapidly drop today.

Eventually all transport and most processes that require energy to operate will come directly from the Sun.

Not FF's.

They are quite simply going to be priced out of business.
