Hi Dave, and Thanks for the suggestions. I'm using MSWIN luckily. I started of originally using crossing 5,13,40, DNS, Stochrsi14, SAR, OBV,and Dahl. Richard suggested simplifying it, so I've been trying only MA's, MACD and CCI. But when I get good results w. one or two stocks, I try them on another 10-15 stocks and have been having poor results. I'm not giving up though[gg]. I'll start again, but this time add one indicator at a time and run them thru several stocks to see how it holds up. BTW, the stocks are from QPscan using either RBBB, or a combo scan which includes RBBB, upside breakout, and canslim stocks..but not >$30. And Dave, what do you suggest for exit indicators?
Thanks again for the suggestions!
Chris

HI Dave!

I'm not a regular poster but a regular lurker and your posts on this thread have helped me greatly and it's good to see you back.
I'm still at the beginning of the TA journey and started by reading the whole Beginner thread and therefore came across a multitude of indicators which i all put into MSWIN 6.5. Now i'm into weeding them out and to see which ones i really like. I set up a whole bunch of different templates but notice more and more that i use indicators that are redundant. I really like the stacked EMA's you use and which are also part of DNS. I was wondering if you really need something like DAHL if you get a high reading in the DNS system because a high reading almost assures that you're on the right side of the trend if
5EMA>13EMA>40EMA. To me it feels that when i get a 7 or 8 in DNS and use a database with IBD 70/70 or higher i should look more for a good entry point. Timing ist the keyword and i think you try to achieve this with stochrsi(14). Do i understand the principle correctly?

Chandler was talking about using weekly charts after a stock passes throught the test on a daily level. Do you use that too?

Thanks to anybody for providing the tools for all of us Beginners to create a foundation on which to raise our own systems...

Stefan

I'll be gal-darned,

Welcome back Dave,

I was doing my daily diligence of reading the thread and all of a sudden I was about 50 posts behind. I thought ah-ha something is up, I must read further. So I got on the train and "started up the mountain" of new posts. I read 5 and started getting tired so I thought, should I get off the train. I went to my thread reading indicator and did not see a stop reading signal. I kept reading. I was up to 13 when I got to your first post. I was thrilled to see it. Another one for the archives. I thought to myself well should I quit while I'm ahead. Back to the indicators, nope, no stop reading signal. On up the mountain I traveled. When I got past 40 I new the trend was with me and I had nothing to fear.

Welcome home, we all have missed you and your great posts.

Now lets all get on with making some bucks in 98.

David

PS.Yea, you gotta be pretty ok with a name like that.
