The easy profit (thus far) from short-term trading in Yahoo! may have tempted enough short-term traders to keep extending their holding period; this appears to be a reason for why the price has been going up; it is a self-fulfilling prophecy in standard economics of a price bubble.

The average holding time will decline when the short-term traders find it expedient (due to risk) to contract their holding period (at a high price for YHOO); then the price will begin to fall and may even crash as soon as a stampede to exit develops.

Historically, every price bubble has burst and, before bursting, every holder has remained convinced that the buble is not a buble!
