Its appropriate you quoted Jerry. To me, the most astonishing thing in the last few years has been that despite the PC market contracting badly, AMD, Intel, and Nvidia largely avoided price wars. The contraction in both CPUs and GPUs over the last 5 years has been very significant. Yet no price war. If there had been price wars, AMD would likely have gone under.
Well, AMD is the only likely competition to either Intel or Nv. It is not a mater of how cutthroat the competition. Competition is either serious or it isn't real competition. If you think AMD can get back into the game with out some very sharp elbows, I think you are wrong. I don't think they can win by playing nice.

I am glad Lisa is not some glam know nothing.

Part of the stagnation in PC is from the lack of competition/innovation. That is fine if you are Intel or Nv, at least for a while. They have both amassed considerable cash and also considerable over head. Sooner or later someone will put either of them or both to the test, might as well be AMD. That is the way I am betting. AMD battling on two fronts as once, Adolph would be proud.

There are safer investments, HD, Campbell soup, many many more.
