Probably the best book for neophyte stock investors that I have come across is Bill Staton's "The America's Finest Companies Investment Plan". IMO, the book is the lay person's best chance to emulate Warren Buffett's style of investing. In fact, one could just stay with the strategy mentioned in the book for an entire lifetime and do very very well.
