Greg,
In Matria's case, I think TA should stand for tax analysis. Matria, along with hundreds of other smaller cap stocks, has lost it's liquidity. Anybody who wanted out at the end of the year for whatever reason had to take an eighth lower, another eighth lower, etc. We seem to have had pretty good support at 5, but I sure hope we don't test it again. A lot of buyers seemed to have stepped aside the last couple of weeks while the end of the year crowd finished up their selling. Hopefully the tax related selling is all done. Today the buyers stepped up with some decent upside volume.
One of the catalysts responsible for today's action is a quite positive RED CHIP REVUE update on Matria dated 12/22/97. They speak very favorably about Matria's balance sheet, their margins, their entry into the growing Fertility field, their new venture into the diabetes field, etc. They put a price target of $10 dollars a share in 98.
Keep in touch,
GM
