Let me talk like Trump.....the 1.75 audit happened, I can tell you that..... and that was the total conclusion. I've gotten several audits because of the places I chose to enter some incomes....eg calling certain invention awards capital gains as many of my colleagues were doing..., some got away with it, others didn't. I've had real estate investment trusts which were a pain in the ass to file for very little gain and simply stopped including them for their 2 digit pluses or minuses... But in recent years I usually only hear from them because I haven't paid the proper penalty on estimated tax...
