The only thing the Globalists have in common with free traders is neither like tariffs. Other than that the globalist (like the GOPe) don't really think free trade works. Otherwise why does it take thousands and thousands of pages of treaties to implement their vision?

Globalism is the worst bait and switch scam of the 20/21 century.

Those who are against globalization and free trade forget that this is a different world.

The cat is out of the bag.

Emerging Asian economies have already learned the skills and the technologies, as well as the work culture - which is, essentially, the idea of getting up early, and heading out to work, and work hard.

If we self isolate, they will go on without us. They would be able to prosper without the West just fine - the same way the West was able to prosper, for centuries, without their participation. We will be simply left behind - with our suffocating spending programs, debt - and dilemmas about equal outcomes and how many types of bathrooms we need to fairly accommodate the ever growing number of sexes.
