Read the article. For once I'm glad THQ was not mentioned as
one of the big guys.

What am I missing. It seems like just another start-up game distributor like a THQI. It would seem to be rather risky for the game developers and why is it a better deal for them? Because they own stock?

I would think it would be difficult to manage. Remember BELLCORE. The RBOC's couldn't agree on priorities and how to chargeback the costs. A game coop might have similar problems. How do you reject a lousy game concept in a coop?

But of course if they had a few successes this would go a long way for them.

Distribution channels are always in a state of flux and if new ways are more efficient they win out. But this doesn't seem like a winner to me. Unless they are only dealing in PC games which is I believe is a far different area than consoles in the long run due to the ability to download games from the Internet. I wouldn't be surprised to see new concepts re the development of the PC game market.

I don't see g.o.d. having a major effect on the game publishers. After all, even though talent is important, financial strength is more important.
