I'm sorry but I just don't think that's true. DELL had a much larger percentage gain in '97 and I don't see anyone selling it off by 30%, hanging at recent lows, and struggling to gain anything despite dramatic positivity across the board. Stocks like DELL and MSFT have had bigger gains than CPQ and have pulled back much less. If profit-taking were truly the motive, these stocks would be getting hit similarly, but that's not the case. Profit-taking is related not only to gains, but to future prospects. When the gains overweight those future prospects, selling ensues. There's some fear about CPQ and their prospects - uncertainty - and Wall Street HATES uncertainty.

Regards,
B
