To All: I did some research and inquiry into AMATs potential performance for this quarter and also its future quarters. I did my inquiry before this week's shutdown. My sources indicates that there is some minor cancellations from Koreans but not outright. It indicates that they request for a possible pushouts.

I personally know AMAT's extreme conservative approach towards "bookings". Therefore I am not concerned about Korean's slow down. I also did another check at their vendors and at AMAT's Austin plant production schedule. There is no slowness in sight. People are working overtime at those facilities. Therefore, it suggests that there is no slowness in sight for AMAT. Currently PVD, CVD are expected to double '97 revenue #, CMP is expected to triple their 97 #. Dont know growth rate of their instrumentation business.I will also reconfirm my research during the middle of next week once all my sources report to work.

Regards

Kumar.
