The Fed is highly reluctant to rock the boat in the months before an election. Only afterwards do they have some political leeway to prescribe bitter medicine.

There is little inflation and the dollar is relatively strong. What is the point of raising rates? Just to have ammo later? It will only screw those with adjustable rate debt which tends to be the lower end of the totem pole. The markets seem to be doing a pretty good job dealing with rates now.

Rarebird is right. Double down on the bet on no hikes before the election.
