If you look at the statistics, it seems that the American "way of life" has actually taken its biggest HIT since 1980 when Reagan came in.

BUT, the major factors seem to be that our wages are too high, our currency is too strong, and manufacturing costs are too high to support any manufacturing other than high tech stuff and even that is being outsourced.

If I came up with a product I wouldn't want to make it HERE in the U.S. I'd want to make it in China, or Indonesia or Veitnam where I could make it for 1/2 the price.

And YOU would too.

Trump is talking about putting tariffs on products from overseas so ours will be more competitive but that doesn't usually work very well.

The U.S. has been competing through gains in productivity. We either need to continue those gains or we'll become the next Great Britain.
